Michael's Monthly Message - March 2008

Dear Family, Friends and Supporters:

Welcome to my monthly message for March 2008!

I hope everyone is looking forward to spring because it's almost here. All in all, it doesn't look like we had that bad of a winter. I guess, I will have to wait until next winter to enjoy another beautiful snow fall. It would be nice if everyone would pay special attention to how Mother Nature brings life back to the leaves on the trees and the plants, flowers and grass of the fields---it's beautiful. Something I have noticed since being incarcerated is how green everything becomes after winter. It's hard to explain things. That's why I love going outside to the yard because I can take a nice deep breath and literally smell the earth. When you're inside everything smells of steel, cement and body odor.

This may seem a little weird, but I'm not alone in picking a flower or weed out in the yard and smuggling it in so I can put it in a cup of water and put it in my cell. You would be surprised how long some of these flowers and weeds stay alive; and weeds can be pretty too. Usually, one of the correctional guards throws it away before it dies.

Many of you probably don't know that green is my favorite color. Yeah I know green? But for some reason I've always loved green. Also, even though I love just about any color green, my favorite shade is deep dark green. I love looking at beautiful forest green plus pine trees when you're at the top of a mountain, and I don't even want to get started about how much I love mountains; I'll save that for another time.

Of course, talking about all this green brings me to another special time of the month---St. Patrick's Day. I have finally come to love being mostly Irish and if I ever get the chance, I want to visit Ireland and check out Dublin, Waterford and Cork City. But for now, I'll just wish everyone a Happy St. Patrick's Day, especially my daughters.

On a spiritual note, I don't know how many of you were able to watch Oprah and see Marianne Williamson talk about her new book "Age of Miracles." It was quite good, and I think she is just a wonderful person. Of course, I'm a little bias because I have read several of her books. Plus, I know her and her daughters are Harry Potter fans. Another book I just received (thanks to Donald) is Eckhart Tolle's "A New Earth"--- Awakening to your life's purpose, which I can't wait to read. I'm curious if it will help me see my life's purpose while in prison.

Speaking of prison, if anyone has any questions about what goes on inside prison, please leave your questions on the guest book, and I will be more than happy to answer them in next month's message.

My Appellate Lawyer, and I have to get another brief ready for the Federal Court of Appeals. It looks like I get one more chance in the federal courts, and I'm hoping for a miracle. Also the Private Investigator (PI) has gone through his first phase of investigating which means I need to raise another $5,000.00 for the second phase. We are close to half way so, if it's possible to sacrifice a little more more I would be extremely grateful. Remember, no matter how small your donation everything counts.

I have a special prayer request for my step-sister's eleven year old son Mikey. Please pray he receives a physical healing---Thank you.

My movie recommendation is: "The Thomas Crown Affair" with the Irishman Pierce Bronsan and Rene Russo. Most of you have probably seen this movie bit if not, it's an overall good movie with a nice ending. For me, the movie really hits home concerning trust but everyone should enjoy it.

My profound  quote is: "May the road rise up to meet you, may the wind be always at your back, may the sun shine warm upon your face, and the rain fall soft upon your fields; and until we meet again may God hold you in the palm of his hand" (an old Irish blessing).

Until next month, take care and remember; "the answers to the mysteries of life hide in the pain of our most difficult experiences."

Love and light to all,

Michael
