Michael's Monthly Message - August 2007
Dear Family, Friends and Supporters:
Welcome to my monthly message for August 2007!
I hope everyone is enjoying the summer. I was given a quick reminder of how powerful the sun can be during our hour and a half yard time. I got sunburn but was blessed with a/c upon the return to my cell so I shouldn't complain. Most of you may not know that I am locked in what some may call "A Cement Coffin" for 21 out of 24 hours every day. Even though I got sunburned there's something very refreshing about the sun. Too bad, I can only feel it three times a week.
Last month, I sent my youngest daughter a nice birthday card with some of my famous lollipops and a present. Also, I sent my oldest daughter a nice card. It's amazing how expensive it is to mail things certified mail. Of course, they're worth it. I hope she enjoys the lollipops and for those of you who have tried them, you know how good they are. Sorry, I can't share them with all of you because a lot of love goes into making them and they are really good.
Still waiting to be transferred to OCCC, but I guess it's a good thing during the summer because there is no a/c at OCCC. Fortunately, I will be able to open a window and breath fresh air when I get there, not like here! And, if the central air breaks down let me tell you. . .did I mention a cement coffin?
Harry Potter survives! Thank you Pam for sending me Book 7. What an unbelievable book series. Boy, if there is ever a wonderful story about the importance of "true love", I think J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series says it best. In addition, what a wonderful person she is and what a blessing she has given so many children around the world by sharing her vision. I'm glad I'm still a kid at heart, or I might have missed out in this treasure. Please, share in this experience with your children and grandchildren.
I'm suppose to receive a response to my federal habeas from the Mass. Attorney General's office this month, so I will keep you all updated. My attorneys at NEIP are still working hard on my behalf.
I want to wish Dick a happy birthday this month. What a great individual he is! May God continue to bless him.
On a more serious note, if everyone could please keep in your thoughts and prayers the people suffering in Western Sudan, the Darfur Region, and the South Korean women who were taken hostage in Afghanistan. The situations are so sad.
My movie recommendation this month is "Bridge to Terabithia." I know, you're all thinking "I'm not going to waste my time watching a kids movie!" But I promise you it really isn't for kids and forget all the advertisements you saw promoting the movie. This movie will touch your heart and possibly bring a tear like it did me because of the similar (loss) experience I went through when I was younger plus the acting is absolutely spectacular.
For my profound movie quote I chose: "Is there a brighter side of death? Yes!---it's just harder to see." (Van Helsing)
Until next month___take care and remember; the answers to the mysteries of life hide in the pain of our most difficult experience.
Love and light to all,
Michael
