December 7, 2005
Hi Everyone,
I hope all of you are well and preparing for the holiday season. The Christmas holidays are meant to celebrate peace, joy and happiness, yet sadly for many the holidays bring much sadness and even depression. This is particularly true for people in prison and most notably so for the wrongfully convicted who did noting to warrant prison time yet sadly are incarcerated for crimes they did not commit. This will be Michael's sixth Christmas in prison/jail, and one we had hoped he would be home to celebrate the holidays with family and friends. Those of you following Michael's case know of his innocence. It was unanimously proclaimed by three esteemed justices of the Massachusetts Appellate Court in their decision of July 8, 2005 when they stated "The judgments are reversed, the verdicts set aside, and judgments shall enter for the defendant" (Required finding of not guilty). Yet the wheels of justice continue to work slowly and Michael must wait a few more months for the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court (SJC) to make a ruling on the appellate court's decision. We are optimistic on the SJC's ruling and hopeful that this will be Michael's last Christmas in prison. You can help Michael get through this difficult holiday season by sending him a Christmas card or gift (money order, or book from amazon.com or BarnesandNoble.com) to:
Michael O'Laughlin W80371
S.B.C.C. N-1 #57
P.O. Box 8000
Shirley, MA 01464
Or by signing his guest book at: http://www.freemichaelnow.com/Guest_Book.html. Michael receives each and everyone of your entries and is most appreciated of them.
So please reach out this holiday season and send Michael a Christmas greeting. He'll appreciate it and you'll feel good for doing so.
May God bless you and have a wonderful holiday season.
Dick
