Hi Everyone,
It's been awhile since I last wrote so I'd like to give you an update on what is going on with Michael and his case.
1. On March 1, 2007 a Petition for Writ of Habeas Corpus was filed with the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts. This is an appeal to the federal courts to overturn the decision made by the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts on March 10, 2006. 2. I have begun an Investigative Journal to investigate many of the outstanding issues regarding the wrongful conviction of Michael. Currently this journal has three sections (1. Reasonable Doubt - what the jury missed; 2. The Other Suspect – a person with greater motive; and 3. Further Points to Investigate – unanswered questions). 3. The document "Errors of the SJC" shows the errors made by the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts in their decision of March 10, 2006. This is the basis for Michael's federal appeal. When I first read Michael's federal brief I was amazed by the errors made by the SJC. I knew mistakes were made but didn't know the depth of them. I will be returning back to Massachusetts shortly and look forward to my visits with Michael.
