Hi Everyone,
I just received this wonderful entry in Michael's guest book (on his web site) and want to share this with all of you. What a truly uplifting message this.
"As a Native American elder supervising the spiritual circle in his (Michael's) prison, I have known Michael for some time. I have listened to him speak of his life, his family, and his feelings - without reference to his alleged crime, although he does continue to maintain his innocence. I am a counselor and good judge of people, and have counseled prisoners for 20 years, and my experience, and my gut tells me this man did not commit the crime for which he was convicted. There are very few in the system that illicit this certainty in me, although many claim innocence. It troubles me greatly that there seems so little recourse or remedy for such injustice, and I wish the system allowed a better kind of review. I wonder how he could be charged with burglary when nothing was stolen and no evidence was presented he was even there, and I wonder that if the jury was able to hear that the victim has said no, how they could convict, or was that not allowed somehow? As a volunteer in the prison I cannot get involved in any proceedings on his behalf, but I feel he is a very good man who has been greatly wronged, and I pray that something may be done to bring justice to Michael and give him back to his family."
Just another example that anyone that knows Michael and knows of his case knows in his/her heart that Michael is truly innocent.
As we approach Easter let us continue our prayers for Michael and pray that he'll soon be freed and come home to his family.
We are anxiously awaiting the verdict from the Massachusetts Appellate Court. I am cautiously optimistic that this court will do the right thing and reverse Michael's conviction.
